Joey Schaefer missed making the IMCA Super Nationals feature by one race. Racing in a transfer position in the Last Chance A-Main, Schaefer was spun out and taken out of that transfer position.

Schaefer Makes Friday's A-Main At Nationals

Joey Schaefer Racing borrowed a motor from Troy Cordes, and he raced his way in to Friday's A-Main (won his heat). Schaefer finished 7th in his A-Main. He will have to race his way into Saturday's Super Nationals Feature Saturday night.

Schaefer won his Last Chance Heat Race. That puts him into a Last Chance A-Main later tonight. If he can finish in the top 5, he'll advance to the main event.

Marshalltown & Independence Updates

On Friday night, Joey Schaefer racing finished 13th at Marshalltown Speedway (Marshalltown, IA). The next night Schaefer was charging hard for the win at the Independence Motor Speedway (Independence, IA). He finished 3rd. Another couple of laps might have made the difference, and Schaefer could have been standing in victory lane.

Night of a 1,000 Stars

Joey Schaefer Racing made the A-Main for the 15th running of the Night of 1,000 Stars at the Hancock County Speedway (Britt, IA). Schaefer started last for the A-Main, and he was racing for 18th by lap 20. A car spun in front of him. Schaefer had no were to go - heavy damage to the car. The rear clip was destroyed.

JSR is coming off a good weekend in North Platte, NE during the Sand Hill Classic. With a 4th place and 7th place finish, the team is hoping to keep the solid runs keep rolling for tonight's Harris Clash.

Joey Schaefer racing decided to make some major changes to the car's set-up, and it paid off. Schaefer battled for the lead right up to the checkered flag. Schaefer worked over Darin Duffy throughout most of the 25-lap A-Main, but ended the night just a few car lengths behind at race end.

Next up will be a trip to North Platte, NE next weekend, and then it is the Harris Clash on July 28th the following Tuesday.

Top 5 in VInton

Joey Schaefer Racing hit the track at the Benton County Speedway this past SUnday night. After having to go to the back of the pack early. Schaefer made his way through the field for a Top 5 finish.

Saturday night at the Independence Motor Speedway, Schaefer had mechanical problems develop in the steering assembly, but he held on for a 17th place finish.

TOP 5 IN MARSHALLTOWN

Joey Schaefer Racing hit the Marshalltown Speedway Friday night. Schaefer drove the number "2" to a 4th place finish.

The team followed it up with a stop at the Independence Motor Speedway. Schaefer had to qualify for the A-Main through a B-Main. After winning his B-Main, Schaefer had to settle for a 17th place finish in the 20-lap A-Main.

Joey Schaefer Racing hit the 1/4 dirt oval at the Benton County Speedway Sunday night. Schaefer started 15th for the 20-lap A-Main. He had the number "2" up to 3rd, but Schaefer was passed on the last lap and finished 4th.

May Day at Marshalltown Speedway saw double features for the IMCA Modifieds. First up was the make-up A-Main from last weekend. Joey Schaefer Racing grabbed a solid 5th place finish. The regular program for the night saw Schaefer finish 11th.

With three A-Mains remaining, Mother Nature moved in and washed out the night at Marshalltown Speedway - which included the Modified main event. Next Friday (05-0-09), the program will start with those three remaining features, and then they will move into the regular night program.

Joey Schaefer Racing hit the Hamilton County Speedway Saturday night. After making a move into the top 10 on one-lane racetrack, Schaefer was caught up in someone else's mess, and was forced to the back. After making a few laps, Schaefer felt there was no need to continue and risk wrecking the car trying to move forward on a one-lane track.

Joey Schaefer Racing put it to the field Friday night (04-10-09) at the Marshalltown Speedway. Schaefer grabbed his first win of the 2009 season. JSR has decided to to change plans and head to the Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, IA) for their opening night of racing.

Joey Schaefer Racing is working to make repairs to the motor issues suffered the past Friday night at Marshalltown Speedway. Things are progressing nicely.

The plan for this weekend is looking like two nights of racing. Friday (April 10, 2009) is calling for JSR to hit the Marshalltown Speedway for opening night (for track points). On Saturday, the team is looking to head to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, IA. The IMCA Summer Series Late Models and IMCA Modifieds are scheduled for a night of racing.

Motor Problems In Marshalltown

(April 3, 2009) - Joey Schaefer Racing traveled to Marshalltown Speedway for the opening night of the Frosterbuster. Engine problems in the ehat race forced an early end to the night.

The team will have to look into the problem before they can determine their next night at the track.

Beatrice Spring Nationals Update

Not a lot of word coming out of Beatrice, NE so far, but we did hear well over 100 IMCA Modifieds were int he pits. The track lost the lights right before the Friday night A-Main, so they will run it Just prior to the start of Saturday night's program.

No word on how "Showtime" Joey Schaefer did during his time on the track at this time.

Once again, Joey Schaefer Racing drew a starting spot in the heat race deep in the field. After starting 10th in his heat, Schaefer moved forward to finish 6th. That forced a B-Main run to try to make the 30-car A-Main. JSR missed a transfer spot.
