Game 2 is Saturday night again inside Young Arena. It's a "Best of 5" series againt the Cedar Rapids Roughriders - this is the most heated rivalry in the USHL!!!

2008 Harris Clash Web Cast

The Midwest Dirt Tracker broadcast crew will return to the IMCA Harris Clash. I talked to race promoter Bob Harris today, and he was excited to have return again to web cast this great one-day modified race at the Knoxville Raceway.

This year, the race is set for Thursday, July 17th. Race fans will be able to listen to the broadcast on www.RaceTalkLive.com.

Chris Marchese and I will be trackside with all of the play-by-play of the IMCA Modifieds and the IMCA SportMods. Broadcast times will be announced as we get closer to this event.

Chris & I decided to do this event with or without sponsors.

Working on 2008 Schedule

I've been working on my 2008 Schedule for racing and radio for the last couple of weeks. This summer looks to be a little busier with both, but I’m excited with some of the things that have been added. Some of the usual events will also return in 2008.

One of the two biggest questions I've been asked lately is, "Are you going to be back with the World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) this year?" The other is, "What races are you going to web cast?" The short answer to both is, possibly and yes respectively.

The WDRL recently posted their tentative 2008 schedule, and I have been talking with Jim Wilson (WDRL President) about what races I can and can't do. He needs to look at those dates, and then he will decide what is in the best interest of his successful tour.

As far as web casts, I can tell you right now that it looks like the IMCA Harris Clash will be our first radio web cast we will do in 2008. I talked to Bob Harris (Harris Clash race promoter) today, and he said that we could come to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, IA) to web cat this event.

I am waiting to here back for the official word on our annual trip to Boone, IA for the IMCA Super Nationals. I placed a call today to the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) about the crew returning in 2008.

There are a few other dates we are looking at, but I don't want to comment on those yet until I get a better grip on getting permissions to broadcast those events and sponsorships. We might do as many as ten (10) dates if things work out, and the cool thing is that my son will be able to travel with me – that's why I'm willing, and able, to do a few more dates in 2008.

On the radio scene, the summer looks busier for K-98.5 (KOEL-FM / Waterloo, IA). The station has added the Buchanan County Fair (Independence, IA) and the Bremer County Fair (Waverly, IA) to the list of events we will be at. Both fairboards have allowed us to really step up and get more involved. We are still working on these events, and I can’t really talk about them too much at this time.

I'll have more coming soon. I'll also post a schedule page once I get a better grasp of what the schedule will look like.
